Sperrin Clad can be installed both internally and externally. For all applications it is critical that the surface onto which the cladding is to be applied has the strength and stability to hold the product.

Sperrin Clad with a weight in excess of 65kg/M² can not be fixed directly onto gypsum based products, plasterboard, plyboard or painted surfaces, in these instances a cement based board or 18mm plyboard with expanded metal attached should be fixed to the wall.

It is important that your first course of cladding is level, it will be harder to correct errors later. Use packing pieces to level if necessary. Using a notched trowel, adhesive should be applied to both the panel and the surface they are being applied to, then simply push the panel firmly onto the wall with a slight up and down movement, use a rubber mallet if required. Corners on each course should be completed first, it is vital to use the long cornered piece on the bottom row and then alternate between courses with the short corner piece as you move up the wall. Complete the corners at either end of the course before working to the centre, were panels need to be cut using a electric grinder or a table saw in a 'z' shape to maintain a seamless pattern. For panels fitted above 2 metres, it is recommended the use of a stainless steel fixing clip, that is fixed to the wall.
